Synopsis
This classic drama about the realities facing women in family and societal structures in the late 1940’s comes alive when older sister Blanche, forced to leave their grand ancestral home after a series of personal losses, comes to stay with her sister, Stella, and Stella’s working-class husband Stanley.

One of the most critically acclaimed plays of the twentieth century, and Tennessee Williams's most popular work, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE was the winner of the 1948 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It still ranks among William's most performed plays, and has inspired many adaptations in other forms, notably a critically acclaimed film that was released in 1951.
